Given :

Price varies directly with the pounds of apples.

Price varies directly with the pounds of apples. It means if any quantity increases other quantity also increases in the same ration.

Ratio of the two quantities remains the same.

Price of 3 pounds of apple : 4.35$

Solution :

Let, Price of 7 pounds of apples be y.

Here ratio of the two quantities remains the

same.

So,

4.35 / 3 = y / 7

Here 4.35 / 3 = 1.45 = y/7

and 1.45 will be multiplied by 7 to get the value of y.

1.45 x 7 = 10.15

So the price of 7 pounds of apples is 10.15$.
