Given :  Sheryl says that the solutions of the quadratic equations w²=49 and w²+49=0 are the same

To Find : is Sheryl  correct

Solution:

I do not agree with Sheryl

w²=49

=> w² - 49 = 0

=> w² - 7² = 0

=> (w + 7)(w - 7) = 0

=> w = -7 , 7

w²+49=0

w² ≥ 0

+ 49 Hence can not be equal to zero

Hence no real solution exist

w²+49=0

=> w = ± 7i   where i is  √-1

Sheryl  is incorrect
