a^2 - 2a + 1 = 0
=> a^2 - a - a +1 = 0
=> a (a-1) - 1(a-1) = 0
=> (a-1)(a-1) = 0
a = 1
=> a^2 - a - a +1 = 0
=> a (a-1) - 1(a-1) = 0
=> (a-1)(a-1) = 0
a = 1
