shifting cultivation is a form of agriculture, used especially in tropical Africa, in which an area of ground is cleared of vegetation and cultivated for a few years and then abandoned for a new area until its fertility has been naturally restored.it is also known as slash and burn agriculture.

hope it helps.....

It's a way of farming where parts of forest are cut and burn in rotation.

Seeds are down I'm the ashes after the first monsoon rrais and the crop is harvested by October-November.

Plots are cultivated for a couple of years and then left fallow from 12 to 18 years for the forest to. grow back.

A mixture of crops are grown on same plots.
