shikhas age = 10 years
mother's age = 4(10) = 40 years

Let the present age of shikha be = x yrs.

Then hey mother's age = 4x yrs

After 20 years their ages are

shikha = x + 20 yrs and her mother= 4x +20 yrs.

According to the problem,

2 (x + 20) = 4x + 20

2x + 40 = 4x + 20.

40 - 20 = 4x - 2x

2x = 20.

x = 20/2

x = 10.

So, present age of shikha = 10 yrs.
