Solution :-

Assume C is the starting Point .

  1. From their he walks 10 km towards North.
  2. From there he walks 6 km towards South. => He comes Back at Point A . => AC = 10 - 6 = 4 km .
  3. Now , he walks 3 km towards East . => B is the Finish Point .

Since ∆ABC is a right angled triangle at A . So, by Pythagoras theorem we get,

→ AC² + AB² = CB²

→ 4² + 3² = CB²

→ 16 + 9 = CB²

→ 25 = CB²

→ CB = √25

→ CB = 5 km.

Hence, shivam is 5km far from starting Point and in North - East direction .
