Shivi wants to cover the wall of his room 40 m long and 5 m wide by square tiles. If each
square tile is of side 2 m then
(a) Find the number of tiles required to cover the wall of the room.
(b) If price of 5 tiles is ₹ 100, what will be the price of total number of tiles required?

Given

wall area = 40 X 5 = 200 m

square tile area = 2X2 = 4 m

(a) no. of tiles required to cover the wall of the room = wall area ÷ tile area

= 200 ÷ 4 = 50 tiles

(b)if 5 tiles = rs 100 then

1 tile = 100/5 = 20 rs

Price of total number of tiles required = 50 X 20 = 1000 Rs
