Answer:

Present age of

(i) Shobo = 5

(ii) Shobo's mother = 30

Step-by-step explanation:

Present age of

(i) Shobo = x

(ii) Shobo's mother = 6x

Shobo's age after 5 years = \frac{6x}{3} =

x + 5 =  \frac{6x}{3}

3x + 15 = 6x

15 = 6x-3x

15 = 3x

x = 5

6x = 6 * 5 = 30

  • Shobo's present age is 5 years.
  • Shobo's mother present age is 30 years.

Step-by-step explanation:

To find:-

  • Present age of shobo's.
  • Present age of shobo's mother.

Solution:-

Let, Shobo's age be 'x'.

And Shobo's mother's age be '6x'.

After five years

Shobo's age = x + 5

  • Shobo's age five years from now will become 1/3 of his mother's present age.

According to question :

➝ x + 5 = 1/3 × 6x

➝ x + 5 = 6x/3

  • Cross multiply.

➝ 3(x + 5) = 6x

➝ 3x + 15 = 6x

➝ 15 = 6x - 3x

➝ 15 = 3x

➝ 15/3 = x

➝ 5 = x

Or, x = 5

We have taken Shobo's present age be x and x is 5. So, Shobo's present age is 5 years.

We have also taken his mother's age be 6x.

So, 6 × 5 = 30

Thus, Shobo's mother present age is 30 years.
