Answer:

SOLUTION

Let Shobo's Present age be x

Then Shobo's mother age will be 6x

NOW,

According to the Question,

x + 5 = 1/3 ( 6x )

We will solve this linear equation in two Variable to get the ages of Shobo and his mother.

x + 5 = 1/3 (6x)

=> x + 5 = 1/3 × 6x

=> x + 5 = 2x

=> x - 2x = -5

=> -x = -5

=> x = 5

Hence Shobo's present age is 5yrs and present age of mother will be 5 × 6 = 30yrs.

VERIFICATION

x + 5 = 1/3 (6x)

=> 5 + 5 = 1/3 × 6 × 5

=> 10 = 2 × 5

=> 10 = 10

LHS = RHS

ANSWER

Let the present age of Shobo be x years .

Then, Shobo's mother's age =6x years

After 5 years: Shobo's age =(x+5) years

∴(x+5)=31×(6x)

On cross multiplying, we get

3×(x+5)=6x

⇒3x+15=6x

⇒3x−6x=−15

⇒−3x=−15

⇒x=5

Therefore, present age of Shobo is 5 years and his mother is 30 years.
