Let Shobo's present age be X

Shobo's mother's present age be 6X

After five years

Shobo's age = 1/3 ×Shobo's mother's present age

= 1/3×6X = 2X

According to the question

2X = X +5

2X-X = 5

X = 5

Hence, Shobo's present age is 5

Shobo's mother's present age is 6×5 = 30.

GIVEN

Shobo's mother age is 6 times of Shobo.

After 5yrs Shobo's age will be 1/3 of his mothers present age.

TO FIND :- Their present ages

SOLUTION

Let Shobo's Present age be x

Then Shobo's mother age will be 6x

NOW,

According to the Question,

x + 5 = 1/3 ( 6x )

We will solve this linear equation in two Variable to get the ages of Shobo and his mother.

x + 5 = 1/3 (6x)

=> x + 5 = 1/3 × 6x

=> x + 5 = 2x

=> x - 2x = -5

=> -x = -5

=> x = 5

Hence Shobo's present age is 5yrs and present age of mother will be

Hence Shobo's present age is 5yrs and present age of mother will be 5 × 6 = 30yrs.

VERIFICATION

x + 5 = 1/3 (6x)

=> 5 + 5 = 1/3 × 6 × 5

=> 10 = 2 × 5

=> 10 = 10

LHS = RHS
