The question is from the chapter My Childhood, English book Beehive Class 9. The chapter is a part of Abdul Kalam's Autobiography- Wings of Fire.

Before I answer the question, I'd like to mention an incident from Kalam's life as written in the book. The incidence is as below.

When Kalam was in junior school, one day, a new teacher entered their class. Kalam's best friend was a hindu boy and Kalam was a muslim boy. So, the new teacher couldn't stomach a muslim boy sitting next to a hindu boy and made Kalam go and sit at the last desk. Both the children were sad and told this to their respective parents about the incident when they reached home. Kalam's friend's father was a high priest in the Rameshwaram Temple and he summoned the teacher and asked him to either apologize to the children or leave the school as well as the island. The teacher choose to apologize for spreading the poison of communal inequality amongst the children.

That was the incident. Now, coming to your question, which asks should students in schools or other educational institutions be discriminated on the basis of religion, I'll give my answer as below:

No. Students in schools or other educational institutions should not be discriminated on the basis of religion. This is because such educational institutions are not ment for these purposes. Everyone should get an equal chance.

After that you may mention the incident starting like this...

Also, when Kalam was in junior school...

After you mention the incidence, at the end, you can write that ...Thus, students in schools or other educational institutions should not be discriminated on the basis of religion.

Thus, the complete answer will be...

The education exemption. It is okay for a school or other educational institution to operate wholly or mainly for students of a particular religion. A religious based school or educational institution is allowed to discriminate by excluding students who are not of the particular religion.

Discrimination is unfair treatment of one particular person or group of people. Usually the different treatment is because of the person's sex, religion, nationality, ethnicity (culture), race, or other personal traits. Discrimination based on race is called racism.
