To Find:

If the rate of GST is 5%, find the GST paid by shopkeeper to government.

Solution:

We know that,

Cost Price = Rs 40000

Selling Price = Rs 45000

So,

Profit = SP - CP

         = 45000-40000

         =5000

Also,

Rate of GST = 5%

So,

GST = 5% of 5000

        = 5/100 x 5000

        = 5 x 50

        = 250

Hence, the GST paid by shopkeeper to the government is Rs.250
