Given,

The Selling Price of an article is Rs.2500

The Cost price of an article is Rs.2000

To find,

Profit percent

Solution,

We have to solve this equation by a simple mathematical procedure,

First, we have to find out Profit,

We know, Profit= S.p-C.p

⇒Rs(2500-2000)

⇒Rs.500

∴The profit for an article is Rs.500

Now we have to find the profit percentage, Profit= \frac{Profit}{Cost Price}*100

By applying the formula, we get

Profit =\frac{500}{2000}×100

⇒25%

Hence the profit percent of the article is 25%.
