Answer:

1. Ornithapy

Ornithophily is defined as the process of pollination by birds.

Birds which come to feed on flower material and fruits often allow dispersal of pollen grains with them to other nearby flowers.

Such flowers are known as Ornithophilous.

Elephophily

Pollination that is carried out by elephants is called Elephophily. It is found in Rafflesia whose flowers are very large and are found at ground level. The pollen grains of one flower get attached to the feet of elephants and may be carried to the stigma of another flower.

2. What happens to ovules after fertilization?

After fertilization, the fertilized ovule forms the seed while the tissues of the ovary become the fruit. In the first stage of embryonic development, the zygote divides to form two cells; one will develop into a suspensor, while the other gives rise to a proembryo.

what happens to Petals after fertilization?

The petals fall off after fertilisation as they only served the function to attract pollinators and protect the ovary.

what happens to stamens after fertilization?

The stamens fall off after fertilisation as the ovary develops into fruit and stamens are not required.

3. Mention any two contrivances in flowers which

favour cross pollination

Two contrivances or methods in flowers that favor cross pollination are insects and wind. Insects move from flower to flower in search of food that allow pollen to get stick on their body and carry pollen as well from flower to flower result into cross pollination.
