1. Iltutmish was the greatest sultan of the Slave dynasty. He ruled from 1211-1236 and was responsible for consolidating the Sultanate. He is considered the founder of the Delhi Sultanate.
2. By the time people reached Daulatabad, Muhammad Bin Tughlaq changed his mind and decided to abandon the new capital and move to his old capital Delhi. It is believed that he wished to shift the capital as a safeguard measure from Mongol Invasion.
3. Alauddin maintained a large standing army, which included 475,000 horsemen according to the 16th-century chronicler Firishta. He managed to raise such a large army by paying relatively low salaries to his soldiers, and introduced market price controls to ensure that the low salaries were acceptable to his soldiers.
