Arrange the given metals in the decreasing order
of reactivity based on the given statements. Give
reason for this arrangement.
OBSERVATIONS:
1. When Magnesium ribbon is added to
copper sulphate solution, blue colour fades
and reddish brown solid deposit at the
bottom of the test tube.
2. When Magnesium ribbon is added to
Ferrous Sulphate solution, yellowish green
colour decolourizes with the formation of
black solid mass.
3. When iron filings are added to Copper
Sulphate solution, the blue colour of the
solution disappears with the formation of
reddish-brown solid substance.
4. When Iron fillings are added to Magnesium
Sulphate solution, no change was observed.
5. When Zinc metal is added to Ferrous
Sulphate solution, the solution turns
colourless with the formation of black mass.
6. When Zinc metal is added to Magnesium
chloride solution, no change was observed.
