DIFFICULT PERIOD FOR HELEN:

although helen was with full hope and determination at her second year at the gilman school, she had to face many difficulties.many of the books she needed to study had not been embossed in time for her to begin with classes and she also lacked important apparutus for some of her studies. she needed a braille writer and had a problem with algebra and geometry as they had geometrical figures, which hwlen could not see. slowly her difficulties disappeared as the embossed boks and the apparatus arrived.

MR GILMAN FELT HELEN WAS OVERWORKED:

mr gilman began to remonstrate with miss sullivan that helen was over worked and he felt that she should remain at his school for three years longer.but nhelen did not like the plan and she wanted to complete college along with her classmates. finally helens mother withdrew helen and her sister mildred from cambridge school

HELEN HAD MR MERTON S KEITH AS NEW TUTOR:

mr keith of cambridge was helens new tutor and under his guidance her preparation for college continued without interruption. helen found this personal tuition much more pleasant and easier than recieving instructions in class. in 1899 helen took the final examination for radcliffe college. the braille worked well in the languages but when it came to algebra and geometry the braille notations were different and so the dificulties arose

HELEN FACED MANY OBSTACLES:

although helen had familiarised herself with the new notations but during the geometry and algebra examination she found the braille confusing. her work was thus very slow and she read the examples nany times before she could splve the problem. she however did not blamr the authorities and overcame the obstacles which came in her way
