The greatest desire in my life was to visit a village. I had often heard from my father about his village. He was born and brought up there. At last I got a change to go to my father's village. My grandfather wanted to see us. When we reached the village we found our house locked as my grandfather had gone to the city to attend a wedding.

Finding no other alternative, we went to our farmhouse. We had lunch and rested for a while. Then we went to see the fields. On one side of the fields food crops like rice, wheat and maize were growing. On the other side there was an orchard with many mango, guava and orange trees. In the evening we went to the river and enjoyed seeing the sunset.

Next day I got up early in the morning and went for a stroll in the fields. I was thrilled to see the Sun rising from behind the mountains and to hear the birds. Then I went to the cowshed and caressed the cows and calves. Then my sister and I, along with my father, went to bathe in the river around the fields and began to chase the butterflies and birds. In the evening my grandfather returned from the city. He was very happy to see us.

We stayed in the village for a week. We had lots of fun travelling in bullock carts, tractors and bathing in the river every day. I enjoyed the bounties of nature to the fullest.
