What the Industrial Revolution 4.0 mainly refers to is known commonly as the "smart industry or project".This is the trend of automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies. Indeed previous industrial revolutions have taken place and they resulted in a better, cost effective outcome. Similarly, revolution 4.0 targets the cost cutting and technological advancements in helping in standardization of goods. The decision of including cyber-physical systems, the Internet of things, cloud computing and cognitive computing would lead to time efficiency prevailing followed by ease of access in enabling such things.

This would create a virtual copy of the physical world and make decentralized decisions. Whether we are ready or not, isn't the issue, considering that advancements take place with time and they prove effective for the future. This approach would be a present project which will help the future generations. People are not always prepared, for instance some people weren't ready for the industrial revolution, yet it happened and it helped. Thus, same concept may apply for this case scenario.
