George Herbert has compared human beings as a lying object and God as someone operating the pulley to lift them upwards.

The poet narrates how God made mankind by mixing all his blessings and virtues in a single body form.

But then he did not give him the capacity to take rest.

God did so because if human beings can take rest, they would start worshipping Nature and forget God.

God wants humans to find deep rest in his company and made sure that mankind can find deep rest only when they remember God and his blessings.
