Deepawali is a famous festival of the Hindus. It is also called 'Diwali'. Deepawali means 'a row of lights'. It is celebrated in the month of Kartik. Lord Ram had come back from exile on this day. People clean their houses before Diwali. People decorate their houses with lights on Diwali. Some people also make Rangolis. The Lord Ganesh and the goddess Laxmi are worshipped on Diwali. Children fire crackers. Diyas and candles are lighted everywhere. We should celebrate Diwali peacefully.
Diwali also is known as Deepawali is one of the most celebrated religious festivals in India. Although it is a Hindu festival, Diwali is celebrated across the spectrum from people of different religions including Christians, Muslims and Sikhs. It is called a festival of lights because it is on this occasion that the households in India and across the world light up their houses with the diyaas and candles indicating the victory of light over darkness.
