Carrying forward from here, I mentored my little brother during his growing years. I am seven years elder to him so I always have a bag full of lessons to teach him and he was so cute to obediently listen to me. One evening, he got up from his afternoon nap and started crying. When I asked, he says he had got so much HW and by the time he will finish, it would be night. He will not be able to go out and play. Remember, the 90’s kids used to go out and play in the streets with colony kids? It was a ritual in those times which was much more important than having meals or watching TV. So coming back to my brother’s concern, I calmly said, “It will finish in no time, you just start.” He finished within half an hour and we both were on the streets with our friends.
Once upon a time, a pencil and an eraser were having a conversation about each other’s job. Both of them were praising each other for their hard work. Both of them knew that they are nothing without each other.
Soon, pencil started to draw a straight line. The eraser was looking at the pencil. All of a sudden, the pencil lost its balance and straight line created by the pencil was ruined. Now, the pencil got very sad because she knew that the eraser would have to suffer because of her mistake. Also, read Small Things Matters.
The pencil said to eraser, “I am so sorry!” The eraser did not know what pencil was talking about so it asked, “For what my dear friend?” “I am sorry, you get hurt because of me. Whenever I make a mistake, you are always there to erase it. But as you make my mistakes vanish away, you lose a part of yourself and get smaller each time,” cried the pencil.
On hearing this, the eraser replied, “That is true but I don’t really mind. You see, I was made to do this, I was made to help you everytime you did something wrong. Even though one day, I know I will be gone. I am actually happy with my job. So please, stop worrying! I will not be happy if I see you sad.”
