Lalu Prasad Yadav was born on 11th June 1948 is a politician from the Indian state of Bihar and the President of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). He was the Chief Minister of Bihar from 1990 to 1997. Later, he was given the charge of Railway Minister in the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the Center from 2004 to 2009. While he was a Member of Parliament from Saran (Bihar) in the 15th Lok Sabha, he was sentenced to five years imprisonment by a Ranchi-based Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Bihar's famous fodder scam case. Now due to health issues he is not so much active in the politics.
