Gambhir singh:​

The king Gambhir Singh is also known as Chinglen Nongdrenkhomba, ruled the kingdom of Manipur. His main goal was to free Manipur from Burmese civilization. A severe war had been taken place in the year 1823. This war is coined as the Anglo-Burmese war.

It resulted in the defeat of Burma. A treaty of the peace named ‘Treaty of Yandaboo’ was signed by both parties and the British, where it mentioned the declaration of Independence and Gambhir Singh as the first ruler of independent Manipur.
