solids are those substance whose particals are very tightly packed and cannot move freely.so they are being constant in their place.most of the solid does not dissolved in water and some are soluble like sugar salts etc.solids have a definite shape and a fixed volume.

solid have no intermolecular space and intermolecular force of attraction . it is incompressible . it have high density . it is very hard. it doesn't having ability of fluidity.
