Hi @friend
==========
The Asteroids ,more properly known as Minor Planets, are small bodies circling the Sun between the paths of Mars and Jupiter -- though a few , such as Eros, depart from the main swarm and may approach the Earth fairly closely. The largest are Ceres 670 km in diameter; Pallas 450 km ; Vesta 385 km , the brightest and the only one visible to the naked eye; and Juno 240 km

Asteroids are small heavenly bodies, mini planets or planetoids present within our solar system , that are revolving around the sun. they are found between mars and Jupiter and this region is called asteroid belt. there are about 1,00,000 asteroids within the solar system but some of them are too small to be detected , just a few hundred yards ago.
the theory behind he formation of asteroids is that satellite of Jupiter exploded and created these fragments.

I HOPE THIS HELPS;)
