Battle of Buxar:

• After battle of Plassesy, Mir Qasim was made as the Nawab of Bengal.

• He replaced Siraj - Ud - Daula as a puppet nawab of Bengal.

• British were not satisfied with Mir Qasim as he did not follow the policies of British.

• Hence, on 22nd October, 1964 the battle of Buxar took place.

• This battle was fought between British forces and an alliance of three local rulers.

• The alliance comprised of Mir Qasim,Shuja ud Daula, ruler of Oudh and Mughal emperor - Shah Alam.

• The alliance of local rulers i.e Mir Qasim was defeated by British troops.

• After the defeat Mir Jafar was made as the Nawab of Bengal for the second time.
