Diversity basically means a variety. This variety can be in numerous things for example, diversity of culture, which means a variety in culture or different types of cultures. It can also mean diverse food, means a variety of food. Thus, to be diverse means to have variety of different types.

India is a land of diversities. The physical features of India shows immense diversity. We have the mountains, the desert, the plains and the islands. People of various race, caste, creed, language, religion reside together in one country.
