The period when the Aryans first settled in India is known as the Early Vedic Age. (i.e b/w 1500BC-1000BC). During the early vedic period, the Aryans loved n villages. Family was the fundamental unit of society. Women enjoyed equal rights. They were respected and were given the freedom to choose their husbands. System of remarriage was prevalent. Rigid caste system did not prevail. Gurukul system of education was present. The main cereal produced by early Aryans was barley. Wheat and rice were not known to them. Worship of nature and natural resources prevailed. Temples and idols were absent and hymns were chanted in the open. They believes in life after death.
The main occupation was domestication of animals and agriculture was secondary. Cattle were the important source of wealth.
