Euglena is a large genus of unicellular protists:

they have both plant and animal characteristics.


Euglena is a genus of single cell flagellate eukaryotics.

All live in water, and move by means of a flagellum.


This is an animalcharacteristic. Most have chloroplasts, which are characteristic of algae and plants..


The euglena is unique because it is sort of like a plant and also like an animal.

It is pear shaped.

It has a whippy tail called a flagellum that allows it to move through the water.
