Silk is a natural fiber obtained through silkworm

The act of extracting silk is called sericulture

The extraction of silk begins with the laying of silkworm eggs

Then they hatch and and kept with Mulberry leaves they are left to be for several weeks after then the would have grown around 1 1/2 inch or 2 inches

After that they start covering themselves in their saliva which is silk after that they are in the cocoon stage

In this stage their cocoons are boiled to kill they inside worm and then they start extarcting the silk fibre and then they are cleaned dyed into desired color and then it is sewn in to silk cloth
