Answer:

ignition is a test used in inorganic analytical chemistry, particularly in the analysis of minerals. It consists of strongly heating  a sample of the material at a specified temperature, allowing volatile substances to escape, until its mass ceases to change.

Ignition Test is to clip the fabric vertically, flame burns at the bottom, then observe if fabric debris occurs and the flame is extinguished itself before fabric burned out. The test aims to evaluate whether the fabric/materials is combustible.

Generally, this test is intended to determine the content of inorganic substances contained as impurities in an organic substance, and, occasionally, to determine the amount of inorganic substances contained as components in an organic substance.
