Mahalwari System:-

  • Introduced in western Uttar Pradesh, parts of Madhya Pradesh and Punjab.

  • Groups of villages were called mahals, hence the name Mahalwari.

  • Revenue was collected by the headman of each mahal.

  • The revenue was not fixed.
