short note on menstural cycle
Answers
Answer:
The menstrual cycle occurs due to the rise and fall of hormones. This cycle results in the thickening of the lining of the uterus, and the growth of an egg, (which is required for pregnancy). The egg is released from an ovary around day fourteen in the cycle; the thickened lining of the uterus provides nutrients to an embryo after implantation. If pregnancy does not occur, the lining is released in what is known as menstruation.
Each cycle can be divided into three phases based on events in the ovary (ovarian cycle) or in the uterus (uterine cycle).[1] The ovarian cycle consists of the follicular phase, ovulation, and luteal phase whereas the uterine cycle is divided into menstruation, proliferative phase, and secretory phase.
Menstrual cycle in females:
When girls reach the age of adolescence they enter into the age when they are capable of reproduction.
The reproductive age in girls begins right form the age of 10 to 12 years and ends at the age of 45 to 50 years.
The menstrual cycle includes following steps:
•Maturation of eggs
•Release of matured eggs.
•Thickening of the wall of uterus
•Break down of thickened wall of uterus if pregnancy doesnot occur.
•Embedding of fertilised egg in the uterine wall for further development if pregnancy occurs.
●At the onset of puberty, the ovaries in girls starts to mature. Every month one ovum gets matured and then gets released by the ovaries. This procedure happens once in 28 to 30 days approximately.
