National Rural Employment Guarentee Act

this act provides 100 days assured employment every year to every rural household in 200 districts.Later the scheme will be extended to 600 districts.Also under this scheme one thirdth seats will be reserved for women and the central gov will establish national employment guarentee funds. similarly state gov will also create funds. also if jobs are not provivded wuthin 15 days then daily unemployment allownaces will be provided.

• NREGA stands for "National Rural Employment Guarantee Act 2005" it was implemented by the central government.
• It was passed for promoting rural employment for people who are living below poverty line and are able to, and willing to work have been guarantee 100 days employment in a year by the government.
• If government fails to fulfil or provide employment to those people who registered there name under this Act will be given unemployment allowance.
• It is applicable for only 200 districts, now it is extended to 330 districts of india
