Dear student,

Over crowding mainly occur due to the increased number of population of a species living in specific environment conditions or in other words when a species exceeds the carrying capacity of ecological niche.
Ill effects of over population in our society are:

A pressure upon resources as there are more people (eg. Food, water) and their quick depletion. An increased number of poverty-stricked individuals as little food is distributed among more people. Starvation, malnutrition or poor diet with ill health and diet-deficiency diseases.Loss of natural environments (forests and such) and loss of ecosystems because they are destroyed to make way for farming and urban developments to accommodate the rising population.More people means increased levels of pollution and thus more greenhouse gases ; enhancing the effect of global warming .Irreversible loss of arable land and increases in desertification.Regards
