It also supports transportation of water and nutrients to the plants.

parenchyma -

Parenchyma is a term used to describe the functional tissues in plants and animals. This tissue is “functional” – performing tasks such as photosynthesis in plants or storing information in the human brain – as opposed to “structural” tissues like wood in plants or bone in animals.

collenchyma -

Collenchyma, in plants, support tissue of living elongated cells with irregular cell walls. Collenchyma cells have thick deposits of cellulose in their cell walls and appear polygonal in cross section. The strength of the tissue results from these thickened cell walls and the longitudinal interlocking of the cells.

sclerenchyma-

plant tissue. Sclerenchyma, in plants, support tissue composed of any of various kinds of hard woody cells. Mature sclerenchyma cells are usually dead cells that have heavily thickened secondary walls containing lignin.
