merileen: Patna is a largest city in the Indian state of Bihar. It also happens to be among the most ancient cities in the world. Patna is the capital of Bihar and is situated on the banks of the river Ganga. The city was originally knowns as Pataliputra. Gautama Budha who started Buddhism had also visited this city.
merileen: About 1.7 million people live in Patna. It is very old city and has a history of at least 2,500 years. It was for its educational institutes, which during those days,attract scholars from all over the world. When founded Patna's old name was Pataligrama,and later into Pataliputra,which was the capital of Magadha Empire,before changing into current Patna.
