Rajiv Gandhi khel ratna award is the highest sports and games award given by ministery of youth affairs and sports.
It is named after our former prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi.
It was first awarded to Visvanathan Anand in 1991.
It was given lastly in 2019 to Deepa Malik and Bajrang Punia.

The Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Awarded for games and sports is the highest sporting honour of the Republic of India.
The award is named after Rajiv Gandhi former,Prime Minister of India who served the office from 1984-1989 as in 2018 ,the award comprises a medellion , a certificate, and a cash prize of ₹7.85 lakh.
There are 38 medals that are awarded .
The first prize is awarded in 1984 to Viswanath Anand.
