Rigveda is a collection of 1028 hymns of gods and also about 10600 verses. They are divided into ten books. These are called Mandalas.

    Rigveda contains procedures to do prayer, puja,  karma and various religious rituals.

   Rig Veda is the first one of the 4 vedas. It was written in difficult Sanskrit. So Brahmarshi Veda Vyas compiled puranas from vedas in easy language.   Adi Sankaracharya wrote many commentaries.

Rigveda is the 1st of four sacred Hindu texts supposed to be written by Brahma, the Creator God of our Universe. Vedas were written to guide people on how to live. It contains rules. It was probably for Indus valley people in Punjab.

     Rigveda is the first veda. It is the oldest book in Sanskrit and Indoor-European languages. It is the largest of all vedas.

Other vedas contained Verses based on Rigveda. Rigveda contained Indian sciences of Yoga, Meditation, Mantra, and Ayurveda. Sri Bhagavad Gita is from Rigveda.

    Rig veda contains hymns of gods. It contains brahmanas. It was written in old archaic sankskrit. It has many slokas about cosmology, universe and formation of it.
