swami Vivekananda was born on 12th of January in 1863 in Kolkata. He was an extra ordinary child with spiritual thoughts. His education was irregular but he completed bachelor's of arts degree from the Scottish church college, Kolkata. His religious and monk life started when he met Shri Ramakrishna and accepted him as his Guru. later he led the Vedanta movement and introduced the Indian Philosophy of Hinduism in western countries

Swami Vivekananda is just another name for the phenomenon that exploded on the Indian scene towards the end of 19th centuary .
He ewstored the self-confidence and self respect of a nation that had been badly mauled for millenia .
Born on 12th January 1863 of an intelluctual but compassionate father & a deeply religious mother .
Narendranath - that was his original name - got a good education and cultural training under their parents also teachers .
He was extrmely mischievous at his younger age .
An innate desire for spiritual perfection brought him onto contact with Sri Rainmakers in the early part of 1882 .
The next 4 years until the Mahasamadhi of Ramakrishna - were marked by turbulance and turmoil, the direct result of the perfect Master chiselling and shaping the perfect discipline, but ending in total sumbission of the later to the former .
As men who were his co-desciples, took orders and found a monastery in his guru's name at BARANAGORE [Calcutta] in 1886 .
