DRAFTING COMMITTEE

❀ Among all the committee of the constituent assembly the most important committee was the Drafting committee, set up in August 29th 1947.

❀ It was the committee that was entrusted with the task of preparing the draught of the new constitution. It consisted of 7 members.

❀ They are DR. B.R. Ambedkar chairman, B.L. Mitter, N Gopalaswami Ayyangar, Alladi Krishnaswamy Iyer, DR. K.M. Munshi , Syed Mohd Sadullah ,DP Khaitan.

❀ The drafting committee after taking into consideration the proposals of various committees prepared the first draft which was published in February 1948.
