the peninsular plateau is a tableland the peninsular plateau is a tableland composed of old crystalline ,igneous and Metamorphic rock. it is divided into two parts namely Central Highlands and Deccan Plateau. Central Highlands consists of Malwa plateau ,Bundelkhand plateau ,baghelkhand plateau and Chota Nagpur Plateau. the Deccan Plateau contains the eastern and Western Ghats.

INDIAN DESERT

the Indian desert lies towards the Western margins of Aravali Hills . IN this region receives a very low rainfall below 150 mm. It is an undulating Sand dune covered with sand dunes. It has arid climate .Luni is the only large river in this region.

ISLANDS

LAKSHADWEEP Lakshadweep Islands is a group of islands which is lying close to Malabar Coast of Kerala. this group of islands is composed of small Coral islands. earlier it was known as Laccadive, minicoy and amindive . karavatti Island is the administrative headquarters of Lakshadweep .it covers area of 32 square kilometres.

ANDAMAN AND NICOBAR ISLAND

Andaman and Nicobar Islands is divided into two parts Andaman in the north and Nicobar in the south. this Island group are a great strategic importance for the country a great diversity of flora and fauna is found over here.
