Tropical evergreen forests are found in areas receiving more than 200cm of rainfall and an average temperature between 24 degree Celsius and 27 degree Celsius. Different trees germinate, grow and wither at different times, allowing the entire vegetations to look like evergreen forest. They are characterized by dense growth of trees of varying Heights, competiting for sunlight, with climbers and epiphytes.

Due to the thick growth ,sunlight does not penetrate through and the floor is quite dark . These forests have a large variety of the species which are not found in pure stands. They produce valuable hardwoods such as mahogany, Rosewood ,Ebony ,sheesham ,ironwood , bamboos and canes.
Rosewood is hard and fine-grained gand is used for making extensive furniture
Shisham is also used to make furniture. These forests are found in Andaman and Nicobar Islands ,Western slopes of the Western Ghats, Assam ,Meghalaya Nagaland ,Manipur ,Mizoram, Tripura and West Bengal
