Lakshdweep lies in the western side in arabian sea and has coral origin. It covers a small area of 32km sq. It was given its name in 1973 before that it was called laccadive, minicoy etc.
It's capital is kavaratti and it has a bird scanctuary on it's pitti island.
Andaman and Nicobar is divided into two parts the northern one is called Andaman and the southern one is called nicobar. It lies in the eastern side in bay of bengal. It has comparatively larger area than lakshdweep. The only active valcano of india lies here and this place is rich in wildlife.
