Meaning of the Fundamental Rights : In every Democratic State, all the citizens have got some rights for the development of life. These rights are given to them by the constitution of that State. They have the force of law behind them. No government can take them away. And if, any government tries to do so, citizens can go to the court to get justice. Only such rights are called 'Fundamental Rights'. A man's development is not possible without these rights.

The Fundamental Rights andFundamental Duties are sections of theConstitution of India that prescribe the fundamental obligations of the State to its citizens and the duties of the citizens to the State.[note 1] These sections comprise a constitutional bill of rights for government policy-making and the behaviour and conduct of citizens. These sections are considered vital elements of the constitution, which was developed between 1947 and 1949 by theConstituent Assembly of India.
