Here are the relationships of altitude (Earth surface height) and air temperature, and altitute and air pressure.

1.  Altitude-Air Temperature Relationship

There is no exact pattern of air temperature throughout all Earth atmospheric layer. However, in terms of the troposphere alone (lower-most layer where weather occurs), temperature decreases as you incease altitude. This means that as you climb a mountain (increasing altitude), the temperature becomes colder (decreasing temperature).

2. Altitude-Air Pressure Relationship

Air pressure increases as altitude decreases. You can imagine the different atmospheric layers (troposphere, stratosphere) as notebooks on top of each other. The notebook that will feel the greatest push or pressure is the bottom-most notebook. This means that as you climb a mountain (increasing altitude), air pressure is decreasing.
