The peninsular plateau is flanked by by a long stretch of narrow coastal stripes called the coastal plain. The western coast is sandwiched between the paninsular plateau and the Arabian sea. And the Eastern coast that is along the bay of bengal is wide in level

A coastal plain is a flat, low lying land adjacent to a sea cost. one of the largest coastal plains is located in southern east united states. The gulf costal plain of North America extends north words from the gulf of Mexico along the lower Mississippi river to the Ohio river which is a distance about 500 miles ( 800 km ) .
