Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam was born on 15 October 1931 to a Tamil Muslim family in the pilgrimage centre of Rameswaram on Pamban Island, then in the Madras Presidency and now in the State of Tamil Nadu. His father Jainulabdeen was a boat owner and imam of a local mosque; his mother Ashiamma was a housewife.

Many important projects of space and defence has been developed in his supervision. He is known as the missile man of India, missiles like - Agni,naag,trishul,Akash ,prithivi etc has been developed with his important contribution.
He is born on 15th October 1931 in Rameswaram,Tamil Nadu. He was born in a very poor family. His father was Imam of a local mosque and a boat owner.Abdul was youngest in his family with 4elder brothers and a sister. He started working to earn money at a very young age. He even sold newspapers to earn money to complete his education. He was one of the top influencers and was awarded with different awards like- padmabhushan in 1981, padmavibhushan in 1990 and Bharat ratna in 1998.He died on 27th July in shilong due to cardic arrest.
