The inter-state council is a temporary constitution body which is set up by the president under the Article 263 of the constitution of India. With the recommendation of the Sarkaria Commission the inter-state council was first formed in the year 1990. The council will investigate policies and disputes among states. It decentralizes the powers, financial resources to the states and deployment of central armed forces to the states on request or as per the need.
